Vacancy: Testing Engineer

 

We are seeking an experienced and technically sound Power Transformer Testing Engineer with 4–7

years of hands-on experience in testing and quality procedures related to Power, Distribution, and

Furnace Transformers. The ideal candidate will be well-versed with IS/IEC standards and capable of

independently handling testing, troubleshooting, and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine, type, and special tests for Power, Distribution, and Furnace Transformers in accordance with IS/IEC standards (e.g., IEC 60076, IS 2026).

  • Carry out tests such as Impulse Test, Partial Discharge, Chopped Impulse Test, CT Test, and

    control panel testing.

  • Conduct CCA Testing, Fault Development Test, Functional Test for MOLG, PRV, and

    Buchholz Relay.

  • Interpret test data, prepare detailed test reports, and handle customer documentation and

    inspections.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO and NABL quality procedures and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot issues during testing and support in resolving customer complaints from sites.

  • Interact with internal departments, including Production, Quality, and Marketing, for

    technical support and improvements.

  • Participate in customer inspections, ensuring transparent communication and test

    demonstration.

  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives in testing procedures.

  • Maintain strong documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external audit

    requirements.

  • Utilise computer systems and software tools efficiently for data entry, analysis, and

    reporting.

    Key Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of IS/IEC transformer testing standards.

  • Practical knowledge in routine and type test procedures.

  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic and functional testing equipment.

  • Familiarity with ISO/NABL documentation and audits.

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, test software, and report generation.

Preferred Candidate:

  • 4–7 years of experience in the Transformer Manufacturing or Testing industry.

  • Sound understanding of electrical testing principles and equipment.

  • Ability to independently manage testing operations and inspections.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and attention to detail.
