The Head of Design at Mahati Industries is responsible for developing and implementing innovative design strategies that align with business objectives, enhance brand identity, and drive user engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain the company’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policy on the
shop floor and surrounding facilities.
Ensure full compliance with the Factories Act, Maharashtra Factory Rules, and applicable Indian
HSE regulations.
Identify and evaluate potential hazards related to mechanical handling, high-voltage transformer
assembly, welding, gas cutting, crane operations, and chemical usage.
Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the plant.
Ensure proper usage and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all personnel.
Conduct safety training, induction programs, and toolbox talks for plant workers, contract labor,
and staff.
Maintain legal records including Form 4, Form 32, safety committee minutes, accident logs, and
mandatory registers as per the Maharashtra Factory Rules.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare root cause analysis and recommend
corrective/preventive actions.
Facilitate statutory inspections and liaison with government officials such as Factory Inspector,
MPCB, DISH, etc.
Assist in implementing safety systems like Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry
protocols, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response plans.
Drive initiatives on behavioral safety and continuous improvement in workplace safety culture.
Key Competencies:
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical safety, especially in transformer production
and heavy machine handling.
Knowledge of Indian statutory requirements and documentation (Forms 25, 27, 32, etc.).
Effective communication and training delivery skills (Marathi and Hindi communication preferred
for labour interaction).
Strong documentation, reporting, and incident investigation skills.
Work Environment:
Plant-based role with exposure to high-voltage equipment, welding/fabrication activities, moving machinery, and storage areas.
Involves regular interaction with shop floor teams, contract workers, and government safety inspectors.
